Bambu is a versatile platform that serves various departments and teams within CDK Global. Users from the Marketing team leverage the tool to share canned content, stories, and links on social media platforms like LinkedIn. By doing so, they gain valuable tracking and insight data for the Marketing team. Sales teams find value in Bambu as well, using it to position themselves as thought leaders and trusted advisors in their industry while also engaging in social selling activities. The product has been particularly useful for different departments within CDK Global, including marketing, sales, and recruiting. It enables efficient social selling efforts, facilitates the scheduling of posts across multiple platforms, and saves time for the digital marketing and social department.

Internally, Bambu is used by a team of around 35 members to share approved marketing content on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Additionally, it serves as an internal communication tool within the organization of 250 seats. With Bambu's help, employees have been able to expand their social followings, increase brand awareness, and drive traffic to CDK Global's online channels. The platform not only supports employee advocacy but also simplifies content sharing for the sales organization and enhances the efficiency of the marketing team in rolling out campaigns. Moreover, Bambu has proven effective in coordinating social media efforts, sharing new marketing ideas, and providing insights into campaign effectiveness. For those who may not be adept at using social channels, Bambu boosts confidence by making it easier to navigate through them while aligning with the new brand guidelines.

Users have made several recommendations for Bambu based on their experiences with the product. The most common recommendations are as follows:

  1. Give users more flexibility on alert settings: Users suggest that Bambu should provide more options for customizing and managing alerts. This would allow them to tailor the notifications to their specific needs and preferences.

  2. Integrate Bambu with SFDC for conversion tracking: Users recommend integrating Bambu with SalesForce (SFDC) to track conversions more effectively. This integration would provide valuable insights into the impact of employee engagement on sales and revenue.

  3. Run a pilot with a small group before purchasing: Many users advise running a pilot program with a small group of employees before fully committing to purchasing Bambu. This allows companies to test the platform's features, gauge employee engagement, and assess its suitability for their organization before making a larger investment.

These recommendations highlight the importance of customization, integration with existing systems, and careful testing and evaluation when considering the implementation of Bambu within an organization.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

We first started using Bambu purely as an employee advocacy platform following a rebrand. Our leadership team had used similar platforms at their previous companies. The platform is managed by the Marketing department, but used almost across the entire organization (250 seats currently). The platform helps make our employees a force multiplier in supporting our new brand by sharing approved content that has been carefully curated into the system. It's also had a direct impact on marketing spend because we've been able to divert budget that would have been allocated for awareness/display ad campaigns the previous year into other areas of the business. More recently, we've also started using it as an internal comms tool and it is working very well.
  • A very simple and intuitive UI (both desktop + mobile)
  • User reporting like "Leaderboard" reports which are key for wrapping an inventive program around employee advocacy for top performers
  • Product Management - in the time I've been using this platform the development team is constantly adding product enhancements and are very receptive to user feedback.
  • Currently Bambu only supports LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter - would be nice to see other social platforms in the mix.
  • Story editing tool is pure WYSIWYG, would like to be able to see an "edit text/html" feature.
  • Would like to be able to customize HTML email template (for digest, newsletter, etc email templates) to our brand specs
Bambu is a pretty straightforward and budget friendly platform, what you see is what you get. If you're looking for a cost effective platform that allows you to create a repository of social content in a controlled way so that it is aligned with business objectives it's worth your time for a look.
  • The social amplification effects of our employees sharing brand content helped us achieve a 400% increase in website visits following our re-brand.
  • With some "Executive nudging" when we announced that Bambu would be used as our internal comms tool, and that we would only be sharing real-time updates via the mobile apps push notifications, we were able to double the # of employees who use the App in addition to the desktop application. Mobile users aside, another positive side effect of using Bambu as an internal comms tool is that it exposes users (the non-social butterflies who don't like to share) to all other content that has been curated into the system and has helped garner more social impressions.
  • The majority of our employees come from the BabyBoom/Gen X generation and didn't come of age in the world of social media, which has presented some challenges in user adoption rates.

We used Bambu internally to make it easier for our entire team of about 35 members at the time to share our marketing content with their social audiences on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We looked into it as an alternative to GaggleAMP for our "employee advocacy" initiative. We did this in order to expand our team's social followings/thought leadership and also drive traffic.
  • GREAT UX and UI... coming off of GaggleAMP, this was felt modern, clean, and intuitive. Even just visually the tool was very appealing to interact with.Variety of notification options.
  • Integrates with Slack, Email, Texts...making it easy for users to pick what works best for them.
  • RSS feed -- automatically pulls in content so you just have to fine tune - there's even a way to have things automatically pulled in for people to use if you're on vacation or unable to manage it for a time
  • Mobile App! It's so user-friendly!
  • Analytics -- there's a lot to be desired here and would be great to see it integrate with other platforms like HubSpot.
Bambu is a great solution for making it easy for your team to share content or for sharing internal messages for your team to read. With the mobile app and several notification options, it makes staying on top of the content being shared easy. I'd definitely recommend it for any team trying to build their social followings.
  • Helped boost website traffic
It was similar in that it helped us push prewritten messages out to our team, but the UX/UI was far more dated and not as intuitive. It's mobile app also wasn't very useful; made it difficult to edit messages and would constantly need you to log back in. The two things GaggleAMP had over Bambu however was more comprehensive analytics and the ability to automatically push out social posts.
